The main objective of the project is to produce the feasibility study for the two main transport corridors, identified on the north-south and east-west axes of the island. It also aims to propose a heritage enhancement plan for the city of Phuket, using transport projects as levers for urban renewal.

The project team provides technical assistance to the feasibility study of the north-south tram-train corridor, as well as a holistic vision of mobility on the island’s east-west corridor, taking into account technical, economic, financial and institutional aspects. In addition, the consortium offers an integrated urban vision and an expertise on landscape integration and heritage, environmental and social dimensions.

DVDH is the leader of the group composed of Arep (heritage and urban planning aspects) and Egis (technical aspects). DVDH is responsible for coordinating the project between all parties involved. DVDH is also responsible for organizing the mobility survey, road-counts and analysis of mobility demand, highlighting the peculiarities by group of income, sex and age. DVDH also provides a global strategic vision of the mobility system of Phuket Island.
