The study involves developing the Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan (SUMP) for the Rabat-Salé-Skhirat-Témara metropolitan area, capital of Morocco. This roadmap aims to support the national and local governments in mobility planning and to create effective investment conditions in order to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in the sector. This involves conducting a mobility diagnosis, notably through a household travel survey, origin-destination surveys, and consultation with urban mobility stakeholders.
An ambitious yet realistic roadmap can then be developed in consultation with local authorities and mobility stakeholders, whether institutional, private, academic, or from civil society. To this end, we rely on traffic forecasts generated by the multimodal model developed as part of this study and a viable financial analysis. Consultation and participatory workshops are an integral part of our methodology to ensure the mobility plan becomes operational in the short term. DVDH coordinates the consortium in the implementation of the SUMP.
