The Diez de October corridor is one of the city’s main routes.
The first step of this project is to draw up a comprehensive mobility diagnosis and characterize the corridor, through an analysis of travel, a study of the urban, social and environmental context, and an audit of the bus operator company.
The group revised the operational plan for public transport in Havana by proposing a reorganization of the bus network, the operating model, and a review of infrastructure. Finally, it defined short-term strategies (review of the network’s morphology, tactical urbanism, etc.) and medium-term strategies (evolution of bus services, reorganization of infrastructure, TOD proposal, study of environmental and social impacts).
Throughout the project, a participatory process is implemented through workshops bringing together various governmental and academic institutions.
