The Addis Ababa City Administration (AACA) wishes to encourage the development of major public transport projects, in coordination with the construction of the Addis Ababa Light Rail Transit (LRT) tram, the first phase of which opened in 2015. AACA has decided to design and build an ambitious Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) network, whose pilot project is first the B2 line. The future BRT network must include 7 lines in total. The BRT B2 pilot project is mainly financed by the French Development Agency (AFD).
DVDH supports the AFD and AACA in the preparation of tender documents and the selection of an international consultant to carry out, on the one hand, the detailed design, the preparation of tender documents, and the supervision of work related to project B2, and on the other hand for the selection of another consultant who will be responsible for managing and coordinating the project, communication, and increasing the skills of the Ethiopian parties for the implementation of BRT B2.
