The study consists of two parts: on the one hand, the development of the intersections of Mvan, Elig-Effa and Elig-Edzoa and on the other hand, the implementation of the SUMP adopted by the Urban Community of Yaoundé (CUY).
The planning of intersections is primarily intended to organize traffic in such a way as to limit congestion at these strategic nodes. It is also a matter of understanding the societal issues related to crossroads in order to propose arrangements that reconcile economic functions, vehicular transit and the creation of public spaces, places to live, at these three metropolitan gateways.
Furthermore, this study includes a component that follows the SUMP adopted in September 2019. It is a matter of implementing its short and medium-term actions. The action plan includes a support to restructure and strengthen the embryonic bus network, the establishment of a technical control and professionalization center for taxis and motorcycle taxis, and the development of secure pedestrian pathways, especially around schools.
