Tarbes-Lourdes-Pyrénées Airport, located approximately 10 kilometers from downtown Tarbes and 10 kilometers from downtown Lourdes, serves approximately 600,000 passengers annually, 60% of whom are pilgrims traveling to Lourdes. The railway line running along the Pyrenees passes in close proximity to the airport site but currently has no dedicated stop.
DVDH is exploring various scenarios: from a simple train stop to the introduction of regular train service to provide a daily train connection to the Piedmont region. Demand is being assessed not only in relation to the airport but also in light of the significant economic development in the airport area, where the construction of a new hospital is also planned.
