Bandung, the third largest city in the country, is experiencing rapid urbanization due to its position as a crossroads in the center of West Java province and its relative proximity to the capital. The expansion of its urban area generates an increased need in terms of mobility and travel, which can no longer be met by the current offer of public transport. Bandung is experiencing serious congestion problems, and the multiple level crossings of the railway axis that runs through the city accentuate traffic difficulties.<\/p>\n
The AFD, in partnership with the Indonesian Government, while using the “Emerging Country Reserve” (RPE), has launched a project to modernize and electrify railway infrastructure and systems in the urban area of Bandung. In support of this pioneering operation in Indonesia, the AFD wishes to launch a feasibility study for the reorganization of Bandung station and its surrounding neighborhoods. DVDH carried out a mission to prepare the Terms of Reference, the call for tenders documents and the call for expressions of interest for this pilot multimodal and integrated development study of Bandung station.
