The study involves developing the Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan (SUMP) for the city, as well as a Public Space Mobility Plan (PMPEP) for Cusco, Peru, the ancient Inca capital nestled in the Andes Mountains. These roadmaps aim to support national and local governments in mobility planning and to create effective investment conditions to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from the sector in this tourist metropolis of over 600,000 inhabitants. To this end, a mobility assessment is being conducted, including a household travel survey, origin-destination surveys, and consultations with urban mobility stakeholders. An ambitious yet realistic roadmap for mobility and public spaces can then be developed in consultation with local authorities and the public.
\nIn addition, the consortium is preparing pre-investment studies for four different SUMP and PMPEP projects.
